R.E.S.T. In Your Identity

Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality

Getting Our Identity Right

If we are going to experience R.E.S.T, it is imperative we live out our identity: In Matthew 5: 14, Jesus makes it very clear who we are. We ARE “The Light of the world.” We ARE “The City on the Hill, ” among other things.

Therefore, if we are daily yielded to Christ, our light will shine out into the darkness, and this will open the way for people to come out of the darkness and be saved. If we are yielded daily to Christ, like the ancient cities on hills, where people came into the city for life sustainability, and for latest news, we will be the ones available to offer the eternal life sustainability through Christ. And we will have words, of God’s wisdom, for those seeking to know about God, and we will boldly, lovingly be able to teach Heaven’s reality to seekers of authentic life.

Be filled with Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today! Be who God designed you to be. Embrace God’s light, through the light of the world — Jesus. Shine brothers and sisters. Shine! Stand up, and stand out, like an easily seen City on a Hill. Represent Jesus, the Christ, well. Be filled with God’s wisdom and impart this wisdom to a lost, degenerating and dying world

Sometimes

Sometimes life happens in painful and unexpected ways. Sometimes we feel spiritually low. Sometimes our emotions are more painful than not. Sometimes our life’s relationships are broken πŸ’” πŸ˜• Sometimes, especially during these inflationary days, our budgets are tight, and our indebtedness becomes burdensome. Sometimes, health issues are constantly putting us , or our loved ones, in bad places. Sometimes, all of the above happens to us. Sometimes we seem lost. And we feel like we are the only one going through this. Sometimes we are lost. What are we to be? What are we to do?

πŸ‘ Good News πŸ‘

The good news is, as a Christ Follower, you are not in this by your self. As Matthew 18:12 reveals, the Good Shepherd of our souls is focused on you. He is willing to leave the Ninety-Nine, or those who are ok, in the safety of the hill country, and He is reaching out just to you. Though they are the symbolically secure Ninety-nine, He wants you to — right now — reach out to Him. Call out to Him. Surrender to Him. He wants to bring you back to the safety of the fold. Experience R.E.S.T, In the arms of The Good Shepherd, Jesus. He is looking just for you.

R.E.S.T. By Judging With Grace

Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today

This scripture, in Matthew 7:1-2, is perhaps one of the most abused scriptures. For people living morally corrupt lives misuse it to justify sin filled living. Siting this passage the say things like, “Now, remember the Bible says you should never judge.” Which is not true at all.

Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today is revealed in this passage declaring that, when we judge, we are to judge others by the same standards we judge ourselves. And that we can count on it. God, indeed, will judge us using the standards of judgment we apply to others!

To really experience R.E.S.T. in the Lord, let me challenge each of us to practice the “Golden Rule” principle as we judge. Let us receive God’s grace to give grace to judge others the way we want to be judged.

God’s Eternal Covenant

God is a Covenant making God: He made His Covenant with Adam, even after he sinned. He made His Covenant with Noah, even after the whole world was destroyed by a flood. He made His Covenant with Abraham. He continued making a Covenant with Moses, the People of Israel, and King David. All of these pointed to Jesus, and to The Eternal Holy Covenant that He established through Jesus sacrificed body, and His shed blood, through the Eternal Holy Spirit. (Read The Book of Hebrews for important details of this Eternal Covenant. )

The Beauty Of This Covenant

Now, if we review all these covenants that point to this Holy Eternal Covenant, you will find that they strictly rely on the behavior of we who are mere human beings; however, the beauty of this Holy Covenant is different: Once Jesus came as the Messiah, and He shed His blood, as the “Lamb of God, “as well as sacrificed His Body, it was “finished.” Your see, He redeems us! We don’t! (Hebrews 9:12) He paid our sin debt in full. We can’t! He provided sanctification. (Hebrews 10:10) That is He made us holy, continued/continues doing so to form us into Christ’s image, (Romans 8:29), and He set us apart for God’s holy use. This is a miracle! In fact, He made us perfect in God’s sight! (Hebrews 10:14) Other’s viewpoints of us do not matter. He then moved by His Spirit to put God’s laws on our hearts, and He placed them in our minds. (Hebrews 10: 15-17) It’s no longer a matter of us keeping God’s law in or own strength. We become new creations empowered to keep them (2 Corinthians 5:17) ; additionally, our sins and lawless acts God no longer are held against us. (Hebrews 10:17) Keep in mind God also opened the way into the Holy of Holies, where Jesus represents us before the Father. We now could come into God’s presence individually. (Hebrews 10:17-19) For Jesus IS The Way The Truth, and The giver of LIFE! (John 14:6) No other covenant made by God or man could provide such a glorious, fantastic, marvelous or beautiful outcome. And only God can do this.

Doing What Couldn’t Be Done Before

Therefore, as our scripture picture tells us in Deuteronomy 7:9, “God IS Faithful.” He will, indeed, keep this “covenant of love.” He will do so, not only for our generation, but He will offer this covenant for a thousand generations to come. He does this for those who now have, because of His love, mercy and grace, the ability to keep His commandments. Before God established this Covenant, it could not be done before. I pray you embrace fully this Eternal Holy Covenant God wants to make with you. If you do so, it will change your life. You can now R.E.S.T. in God’s Holy Eternal Covenant that He wants to make with you. (Hebrews 4:9-11.)

P R A Y E R

Dear Heavenly Father,
I am so very thankful that you are a God who makes covenants.
I am especially grateful for the Covenant of ALL Covenants — Your Eternal Covenant.
I bow before You to embrace Your redemption.
I yield to You, through Jesus, to be sanctified wholly by Your Holy Spirit, because of
Jesus’s sacrificed body.
I praise you that, because of all you did, and do, you declare me perfect in Your sight.
Please, Lord, continue putting Your laws on/in my heart, and write them in my mind.
I hold on tight that my sins and lawless acts are no longer remembered by You.
As You have opened the way into Your Holiest Place, I come now to be sprinkled, and cleansed from guilt and from shame, as you wash me whiter than snow, from the inside
out. I come to R.E.S.T. I come to experience Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today.

R.E.S.T. In Our Hideaway

Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today

Take some time to read Psalm 46. Look at all the stuff that is happening to the writer of this Psalm. He surely is facing tremendous challenges for his time; yet, he has learned a powerful lesson that was taught him by God’s own Holy Spirit, through all the storms of life.

God Is

Yep! This Psalmist can experience R.E.S.T. [Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today] because he is absolutely sure of the first two words of this revelation from God: Nothing is more true than God IS! And because God IS, no matter what happens, God is our place of refuge! He is our hideaway! Because we can hide in Him, through Jesus our Lord, we also, not only have a place of refuge, but in this place of closeness to the Almighty, the Spirit fulfills His promise that He gives us power! (Acts 1:8).

Guess What

Can you guess what happens then? Strength comes! Just about when we wonder where we will get the stuff to be enough, God shows up! He shows up providing all our needs according to His riches in glory!

(Philippians 4:19)

HALLELUJAH!

Prayer

Loving Heavenly Father,

We are grateful You are our place to go when we face struggles in our lives. We thank you that Your ARE! We rejoice in the fact we don’t journey alone! Give us grace to hide in You our Rock of the Ages. Help us to surrender everything to You! And may we wait on You and receive all the strength we need.
